Thrive International is empowering multicultural communities to THRIVE.
Our Backstory
Thrive International was founded in late 2021 by a diverse group of innovators united by a shared vision: thriving multicultural communities. Some founders grew up nearby, while others have lived across continents, all witnessing how cross-cultural relationships enrich lives and strengthen communities.
Weeks after forming, war broke out in Ukraine. Thrive quickly responded, welcoming hundreds of Ukrainian refugees. In 2022 alone, we served over 1,000 newcomers in Spokane, expanding our housing, resources, and programs to create lasting pathways to stability.
By December 2023, Thrive expanded to SeaTac in the Seattle area, successfully transitioning 90 families from tents into emergency housing. In May 2024, Thrive Center Tacoma opened, welcoming 41 families and providing safe shelter, employment support, education, and community programs. Families at our centers receive the tools to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
Our mission extends beyond borders, partnering locally, nationally, and internationally, including refugee camps, to ensure that refugees move from surviving to thriving.

We are here to empower refugee and immigrant communities in Spokane and beyond. Having recently left their home countries, these multi-cultural groups are often doing everything they can to simply survive, but our mission is to move refugees from surviving to THRIVING. Through education, training, and creating spaces for refugees and citizens to get to know each other, Thrive is helping cultivate a more vibrant community by embracing our diversity.
