Thrive Workforce Housing Development

In partnership with Spokane Public Library, Thrive International is developing 48 units of mixed-income housing at 6980 North Nevada Street. Designed to support working families, including refugees and asylum seekers, this development empowers residents to build stable, thriving lives and strengthens Spokane’s future through a groundbreaking public-private partnership with the Spokane Public Library. The project includes a community center, playground, greenhouse, geodesic dome, and a 24/7 Library kiosk.

The first library-private partnership for refugee housing

  • Workforce Housing.

The Thrive International Workforce Housing Development will power Spokane’s economy by providing 48 mixed-income units for working families, including New Americans. Half of the units will be reserved for refugees, with the other half open to the general population. This mixed-income model aims to foster greater understanding between new Americans and long-term residents.

  • Public Event Space.

The Library will manage the public event and learning space as part of the more than 40 public event spaces available at seven other locations and will program free community education events.

  • Community Garden.

The property will have a community garden and greenhouses where community members can grow crops and plants together in an environmentally friendly way.

  • 24/7 Library Kiosk

The property will have a library kiosk filled with books and movies. People can use their library cards to browse, check out, and return items – all in one spot (Spokane Public Library)!
